It has been a busy morning here so far going through my email as it appears that several well known companies that I have done business with have had their client email lists hacked. Epsilon, an email marketing firm with over 40 billion
spam emails sent annually, has
notified many of their customers including TiVo, JP Morgan Chase, Capital One Financial, US Bank, and others that their customer data was exposed by an unauthorized entry into Epsilon's email system on or about March 30th.
All companies involved including Epsilon are claiming that the breach involved only email addresses and possibly customer names so if you happen to be a customer of any of these companies be especially cautious when opening emails from unknown third parties.
Let the spamming begin.
